Developing Properties with Licensing Legs

Sid Kaufman is a 20-year veteran of the licensing industry. Since November 1997, Kaufman has been Executive Vice President, Worldwide Merchandising for NELVANA. In this role, he has leveraged the company's portfolio of properties into double-digit growth for each of the past five years. Nelvana's properties include classics (Babar, Berenstain Bears and Maurice Sendak's Little Bear) and contemporary properties (Beyblade, Medabots, Miss Spider and Franklin the Turtle).

Prior to joining NELVANA, Kaufman was President and Chief Executive Officer of Total Licensing Services, Inc. (TLS), and President of MCA/Universal Merchandising. Kaufman also served as a Vice President with Leisure Concepts Inc. and director of licensing at MZ Berger. Kaufman started his career at Deka Plastics and was a founding board member of LIMA.
