Sales Strategies for the US Market
Alexander Drosin is president of Broadway Video Enterprises (BVE), a division of Lorne Michaels' Broadway Video Entertainment. Under Mr. Drosin's guidance, BVE seeks to acquire innovative new programming and properties from around the world and acts as executive producer, developing them across all media channels. Additionally, the company is generating aggressive licensing & merchandising programs for its properties in order to expand into all relevant categories.
Currently, BVE is focused on bolstering its presence in the kids and family arena as well as managing the international distribution and global licensing for the popular Saturday Night Live series and the domestic and international distribution of such proprietary programming as The Kids in the Hall, among others. In the children's market, Mr. Drosin has secured high-profile partnerships with such cutting edge production houses as Aardman Animations, Cuppa Coffee Studios and Wreckless Abandon Studios.
Prior to taking the reins at BVE, Mr. Drosin served as executive vice president and general manager of the entertainment division at Golden Books Family Entertainment. At Golden Books, he directed worldwide production and distribution efforts for the company's extensive TV and film divisions, which owned copyrights to such beloved characters as Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, Lassie and The Lone Ranger. Mr. Drosin was also responsible for overseeing the company's Home Video and Licensing & Merchandising divisions.
Prior to Golden Books, Mr. Drosin was head of distribution at Broadway Video where he oversaw the worldwide distribution of such series as Saturday Night Live and The Kids in the Hall and the acquisition of over 3,000 half-hours of family oriented programming.
Previously, Mr. Drosin was employed as a journalist at The Wall Street Journal/Europe in Brussels, Belgium.
