Nancy Bassett is the Senior Vice President of Worldwide Consumer Products for DIC Entertainment. Based in Burbank, California, DIC Entertainment is a leading entertainment company focused on developing, producing, distributing, and merchandising children's animation worldwide. DIC's core brands include Madeline, Strawberry Shortcake (for American Greetings), The Super Duper Sumos and Knights of the Zodiac. Bassett joined DIC in August 2002 after approximately eight years of employment with Viacom Consumer Products, the licensing division of Paramount Pictures Corporation. Bassett held various positions with Paramount during her tenure and departed as their Vice President of Worldwide Licensing, a newly created position for Viacom Consumer Products. Bassett briefly relocated to New York for Viacom acting as the interim Managing Director of Hamilton Projects and helped to transition the South Park/Comedy Central merchandising business to Viacom Consumer Products' Los Angeles-based operations. Prior to establishing a career in licensing with Viacom Consumer Products, Bassett worked with Alliance Atlantis where she established Alliance's worldwide merchandising department and prior to that was the Director of Marketing for Sega of Canada.
