Helen McAleer is Director of Children's Operations, with responsibility for acquisitions, marketing, creative direction and licensing activities, as well as managing third party rights owner relationships in the UK and internationally
Helen is responsible for marketing some of the world's leading children's properties including Teletubbies, Tweenies, Fimbles, Andy Pandy, Bill & Ben, Little Robots, S Club 7, Ace Lightning, Cavegirl, Robbie the Reindeer and Wallace and Gromit.
In her role, Helen assists in the distribution and licensing for these properties, working closely with the international division at BBC Worldwide, CBBC, international broadcasting partners, publishers, and independent producers. BBC programming and associated products are available in more than 200 territories and have been translated into scores of languages.
For more than 50 years BBC has been strongly committed to providing the highest quality of programmes, with services tailor-made for children of all ages, from pre-school upwards. BBC Worldwide continues that commitment by ensuring programming reaches the widest possible audience and that other commercial activities, related to the programming, offer an extension to the child's experience and enjoyment. As a result BBC properties are known and loved by children the world over.
BBC Worldwide returns all monies generated from its commercial activities to the BBC for reinvestment into new programming and services. Last year the company returned £123 million.
